Cushman Motor Scooter Ride

Ruidoso, New Mexico

Sep. 26-30, 2012

The Colorado Cushman Club and its New Mexico members are hosting another ride in Ruidoso, New Mexico.  The dates are Sep 26-30, 2012.  Notice that we have expanded the ride to a five day event, three day ride, so this will be a fun ride you won’t want to miss.  For those that haven’t attended previous Ruidoso rides, the village is nestled in the Rocky Mountains of southern New Mexico surrounded by the Lincoln National Forest.  Nearby attractions include the Inn of the Mountain Gods, three casinos, historic Lincoln, and Fort Stanton, stomping grounds of Billy the Kid, the beautiful Hondo Valley, and Capitan, home of Smokey the Bear.  We’ll be riding to Cloudcroft (9000 ft) where you’ll be able to view the spectacular White Sands National Monument in the Tularosa Basin below.

The host motel will again be the Arrowhead Motel & RV Park, www.arrowheadmotelandrv.com , 616 Hwy. 70, Ruidoso, NM 88345, phone 575-257-4241, 888-547-6652.  There is in-room coffee service but no breakfast.  The Arrowhead has 15 rooms, all non-smoking, and 15 RV sites with full hookups.  It is a clean, neatly kept older motel with room to park scooter trailers, and a central patio to socialize.  If you want to stay at the Arrowhead we recommend that you make your reservations as soon as possible since space is limited.  Some newer chain motels close by are listed below.  More motels and RV sites can be found at www.ruidoso.net .

The welcoming dinner will be Thursday night at the Casa Blanca restaurant where you can sample some of New Mexico’s finest Mexican food.  The real treat will be after the Saturday ride when we will all gather at the Arrowhead motel for the always popular HunnyBunny margaritas and a catered dinner on the patio.

Because this is a three day ride we are expecting a big turnout, so if you plan to attend please call Jim Harris, 575-522-2348, or email jeharris.nm@hotmail.com by no later than Aug 15, 2012 so we’ll have plenty of time to arrange ride tours and lunches, evening dinners, and the catered dinner at the motel on Saturday evening.  We recommend that you make your motel/RV reservations for the nights of Sep. 26, 27, 28, and 29 with checkout and departure on Sunday, Sep 30, 2012.

COME JOIN US IN THE LAND OF ENCHANTMENT!
